Ismailism and Islam: Oil and Water

Oil and water do not mix – which too is the case with Ismailism and Islam. They have nothing in common. The following are the unislamic beliefs of Ismailis which categorically violate the fundamentals of Quran, Sunnah and Tawheed and therefore prove how different Ismailism and Islam are from each other.

1. The Authority of Aga Khan over Allah

Karim al-Huseini, Aga Khan IV has acquired powers of issuing verdicts of  Halal and Haram and Ismailis have distanced themselves from Quran and Sunnah to an extent that one would not find the Holy Quran in most of Ismaili homes.

2.Involvement with Riba

The Aga Khan has made Halaal for the Ismailis that which Allah has made Haraam for the mankind. Involvement with Interest (Riba or Usury) is not forbidden by the religious instruction classes run by the “Tariqah Board” of the Ismailis. In fact, the Aga Khan has recently acquired one of the largest banks in Pakistan, Habib Bank Limited which openly engages in Riba transactions through conventional banking.

3. Quran was “Time-Bound”

Ismailis all professedly believe that the Qur’an was time-bound and was not meant to be a universal message for all times. They believe that their spiritual leader, Karim Aga Khan, is the “walking and talking Qur’an” and his “religious pronouncements”, whatever they may be, are the “guidance” for the present times. The fundamental article of faith that there will not be any new revelations or after the Qur’an, is being completely violated by the Ismailis.

4. Aga Khan is Manifestation of Allah on Earth

The Aga Khan has officially declared himself, before his followers, as the “Mazhar of Allah on Earth”. The word “mazhar” means “copy” or “manifest”. Consequently, these Ismailis who call themselves Muslims prostrate before Aga Khan. Therefore even the primary axiomatic principle of Tawheed is being fundamentally violated by Ismailis.

5. Ignoring the Islamic Ablution, Salah, Fasting and Hajj

The Ismailis are not instructed to offer the Islamic Salaah, observe Saum or perform Hajj. They have replaced Salaah with their own shirk-infested Dua’a (one in the morning and two combined in the evening) and singing Ginans in the form of Hindu-inspired hymns.

The ritual of Dua’a is performed without performing any ablution and through ignorance of all principles of purification (taharah) prescribed in the Shariah.

Similarly , Ginans are songs which are sung in their Jamatkhanas, which are places of worship where Ismailis go to instead of going to Masjids. These Jamatkhanas have recently been re-branded as Ismaili Centers in the western countries.

Ismailis are told that their Hajj is a personal “glimpse” (deedaar) of Karim Aga Khan.

Until recently, all Jamatkhanas were equipped with life-size pictures of Aga Khan in front of which Ismailis used to prostrate during their prayer of Dua’a.These pictures from the front walls have recently been removed due to criticism inside the Ismaili community.

Ismailis do not face the Qibla during their prayer (Holy Dua’a). In the book “Ismaili Tariqah , written by a famous Ismaili Missionary, Abu Aly A. Aziz, it is mentioned on page 184: “Facing the Qibla in prayer is not a fundamental principle of Islam, it is a tradition.”

6. Aga Khan has the Authority to Forgive Sins

The Aga Khan and his appointees ‘forgive the sins’ of the followers on a regular basis. Ismailis are misled into believing that they will not be questioned on the Day of Judgment for the sins since their sins are already forgiven in their Jamatkhanas. Whereas forgiving sins is the exclusive prerogative and privilege of Allah (swt) alone. (Qur’an 3:135).

The above is just a sample of the shirk- and kufr-infested beliefs of the Nizari Ismailis, who claim to be the “second-largest sect inside Shia’a Islam”. In reality, they have nothing in common with Islam

ISMAILIES insist on being called Muslims but they indeed do not profess and practice Islam based on quran and sunnah.Instead they believe that Karim aga khan of Paris is the Ultimate authority in Islam and in order to prepare room for this belief they interpret few aayats of quran in a way different from the rest of the ummah and reject whole remaining quran .The ummah has rejected their interpretation of quran  and Karim Aga Khan claims for which this interpretation is devised.Consequently they are unbelievers and out of the fold of ISLAM.

The Downfall of Ismailism

Its’ been a while since I wrote my last article.  Alhahmdulillah , the previous article click here article received tremendous response and  was viewed more than 23000+ till today. I received many encouraging comments from people who were just quite and had similar views to what I had and have come out very strongly against the fake practices that take place inside the Jamatkhana on a daily basis.

I also received some negative comments from people, directly attacking my character and lowering me down by insulting my English and so on. Let me tell you, I am not a journalist by profession, I am a regular guy and English is my second language. If you speak good English,  Alhamdulillah, good for you. I would love to learn my deen first than English. Some people wrote that I presented misinformation. Well, I had provided all the links as a proof that I was talking about. Those were not fabricated by me. They are still there. You may want to read that again.

Now coming back to the subject of the article, I wanted to share my personal experience on what is going on in the Ismaili community. I do not want to generalize it, but this is purely based on my personal experience and the people I have met and the gatherings I have been to. I personally feel there is a great leadership crisis in Ismailis in terms of spiritual guidance. Aga khan has failed dismally in uniting the Jamat and in explaining the tariqah the way it should have been. And this has caused Ismailis around the world to start questioning their own faith. This has opened a new door for them to leave Ismailism and join the mainstream Islam. Especially, the jamat in the remote of parts of India and Pakistan who live under the tyranny of hopeless jamati leaders.

Some of of the readers may find this smoky but let me present the facts.

I have met many Ismailis who showed their desire to learn the Namaz. Secondly, Last year I attended couple of  Islamic gathering specially organized for Ismailis and to my surprise there were 150+ Ismailis (including women and children) who participated in the gathering and all prayed five daily prayers in the Masjid. This means they already left Ismailism since they knew how to pray Islamic prayer or they were interested in learning the Namaz. I captured below picture when one of the new Ismaili brother who accepted Islam inside the Masjid. (Face has been covered for privacy reasons)

In recent past, there has been great dawah work done around the globe. Be it in the form of Tablighi Jamat, Universal Organization, Sunnat Khoja Jamat etc and many other small institutions who are holding hands of such Ismaili brothers who did not know how to pray or where to start and Alhamdulillah hundreds if not thousand Ismailis have attended the dawah conferences and are turning towards Islam.

Indeed! “He gives wisdom to whom He wills, and whoever has been given wisdom has certainly been given much good. And none will remember except those of understanding.” (Holy Qur’an: 2:269)

Please watch the following video of one such organization : Khoja Sunnat Jamat

We have visited many Ismaili families who have come up openly opposing the Ismaili Jamatkhana practices.

Another reason which is very common for the Ismaili brothers to feel disconnected is the lack of Islamic values in his own family. He has not set any single example to be followed for his murids. Building museums and so called centers  does not earn the pleasure of Allah but Masjid does.

Aga Khan needs to clear the air that he is nothing but powerless slave of Allah and equally dependent on Allah for his needs and tell the Jamat to stop praying him and ask for everything to Allah directly.

“And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me – indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me [by obedience] and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided.”  (Holy Qur’an: 2:286)

Redirecting The Ismā‘īlī Du‘a’ Towards Allah

Inside Ismailism

Allah says in the Glorious Quran, Surat Ghāfir (The Forgiver), Chapter 40, Verse 60:

وَقَالَ رَبُّكُمُ ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ ۚ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِي سَيَدْخُلُونَ جَهَنَّمَ دَاخِرِينَ

Your Lord said: ‘Invoke Me, and I will accept your prayers. Surely those who are too proud to worship Me shall enter Hell, utterly abased.

Man makes Dua only to that being whom he regards as all-hearing and all-seeing and Possessor of supernatural powers. He believes that the one he is making Dua to can give him. So in return he thanks the provider, and repays with tan, man and dhan (with all efforts) for his accepter of Dua in gratitude. He invokes Him at all places, and under all circumstances; he invokes Him in privacy, aloud as well as in a low voice, and even in the depths of his heart.

He does so on the basis of the belief…
